As a painter my impelling concern is a rather straightforward
approach to the depiction of the nude figure in all of its
strengths, integrity, and vulnerability. The model is exposed
physically as well as mentally, in an alien environment, to the
probing eye of the artist. It takes great concentration on the part
of the model to stay focused on the pose, and at the same time
appear relaxed and not carved from stone.
I enjoy the rapport that can develop between the sitter and the
painter. Exploring mutual likes and dislikes, discussing authors,
composers, trendy foods and wines, recent movies and travel
experiences. I enjoy the models appraisal of the work in progress.
It all makes a very rewarding way to spend three hours, which fly
